| The term is almost OVER!!!!! There's only 3 weeks to go~ Work is piling up on my desk again...and these are no long the little "exercises" that we do every week but projects to be printed and to be photo documented as a possible part of the portfolio~ I'm quite excited about all of it~ I think I've finally settled into this full time atmosphere~ I'm reserving time for myself, to reflect, a little more so that I'm still mentally balanced! HAHAHAH~ It sounds so ridiculous but u have no idea what we go thru here. Sometimes, having so much work , u get so trapped in this little stuffy classroom with your drafting table. When u start having the time to take a look at the work in magazines, in advertising and even on the internet with 18 years old's overflowing with talent post their work...u feel so little...Being a designer, I think confidence in your work is sooo important...but I'm never really confident cuz I was never the girl hiding in the corner writing poems or doddleling beside her notes...I'm more the kind that would indulge in whatever that's in my plate at the moment. 2 years ago, it was still a biology textbook, but now, its a whole new world....I like this change tho....very unconfident about it, but I like it....I whine and whine about how tired I am all the time and how much work to do, but I enjoy it once I get into it. I hope this feeling will never go away. I think I'm starting the courage to design things for myself now...not for the teacher, not to top the class (which I believe I will never, they are just toooooooo talented!)...but to have fun~ ^.^ I'm so much more happier this way.
I havn't gotten the time to upload stuff and photograph my work yet...there's just too many of them....
but here's a recent one....we are to design a deck of cards as a class...I got 10 of diamonds and 6 of spades.... Here's the 10 of diamonds...its here just cuz I have to photoshop it a little. Done with gesso, acrylic, gold ink and lace.
